Ok after doin a little noise isolation & process of elimination, I’ve come to the 98% conclusion it’s coming from the muff. Don’t understand what would cause that. Sure I’ve hit a few hard bumps on accident but would that really knock the baffles lose?? Or could it be a different internal issue?

Oh wow lol ya absolutely not gonna do that. Seems my only viable options are either 1- replace the muff, 2- get a stethoscope & continue investigating, or 3- wait till my appointment at the shop
    *sigh* fml

Ok can u please explain what u mean by “weld broke”? And if it did break (causing a lose baffle) what’s the best way to go about fixing it?

If it is that, does it mean I gotta replace the muffler?

    Weird Noise
Geez I’m think I’m cursed with scooters. Just bought a brand freakin new BMS (ZNEN) Cavalier from a local dealership about a month ago & ever since 2 nights ago it gives off a weird noise at the rear. Not sure the exact location but after inspecting the motor & CVT I’m pretty certain it’s coming from the muffler. I haven’t brought it to the dealership for a diagnostic yet. Will be doing so in like 2 weeks coz they’re way busy. Have been regularly changing the oils & only using 91 for fuel. So I’m
baffled by this. Granted I have been riding it quite a bit for my Postmates job but hey need to make $. Anyway, I’ve posted a YouTube vid so lemme know what u guys think. I apologize for it being so dark but the camera was in close proximity to the muffler the whole time.

    Break-In Period
First off I’m wondering what you all think of the BMS Cavalier vs BMS Prestige. Getting one of those brand new tomorrow. Second, even though I have plenty experience with breaking in the other two scoots I’ve owned (TaoTao Powermax & Lancer), I was wondering what the most effective tactic is. The one I’ve used is babying it for like 1000 kilometers. But then I just read up on “ride it like you stole it”. Sooo which one should I do? Or should I find a middle ground?

Right so how do I fix a lean engine?

After adjusting the main jet screw and taking the scoot out for another test run I’m thinking the quietness just might be totally normal with this carb, what do u guys think? So far it hasn’t bogged. Doesn’t go quite as fast though. My top speed was around 53-55 with my other carb, now it tops out at 50.

    3 questions:
    what’s an ACV diaphram?
can I install an ACV diaphram?
is it bad for the scooter to ride without one?
I would reinstall my stock carb but it doesn’t work so great.

Ok sooo for another update, I think I’ve encountered another issue. The night I thought that it was good it actually wasn’t. Started bogging again. This time I took the muffler off & noticed the exhaust gasket missing (the seal) so I tried using one from amazon but it’s the wrong size. Next I put silicone in the groove instead but now the motor sounds way too quiet. Like the quietest it’s ever been. Even compared to when I first purchased it. I took it out for a little test run around my neighborhood and yes it does go at a decent speed and quite “smooth” but too smooth. Just doesn’t feel right. Not what I’m used to anyway.
    Here’s everything I’ve done:
Adjusted valves to .051 mm (couldn’t find an exact .05 anywhere local)
Replaced carburetor (did not adjust fuel/air mixture screw)
Sealed CVT cover with silicone (stock rubber seal broke off a while ago)
    Sealed muffler manifold with silicone
Sealed air intake filter with silicone (where it attaches to carb manifold)

Update: Got the scooter fixed turned out to be the spark plug. But was still probably a good idea to adjust the valves anyway since I’ve  put over 6,000 kilometers without it

I thought scooters are technically both because battery produces DC & stator and cdi are AC right?
Oh and I know about the resistance checks I just don’t have a voltmeter. But I guess my question is, IF the problem isn’t the valve gaps, stator, spark plug or cdi what else could it be?

Nope nothing. No change at all. May need to check the stator
