  1. KYMCO USA has issued a recall on all 2015 and 2016 Super 8X 50cc and 150cc scooters. According to a letter from KYMCO distributed along with a press release announcing the recall, “on some vehicles the front hydraulic brake line may be damaged due to improper routing causing the hydraulic brake line to fail. This condition can cause a loss of control of the vehicle resulting in injury or death.”

Here’s a list of affected models and VIN range:
    2015 Super – 8 50 X: LC2U2A0_FC200306 – LC2U2A0_FC200912
    2016 Super – 8 50 X: LC2U2A0_GC200101 – LC2U2A0_GC200202
    2015 Super – 8 150 X: LC2D3J1_FC200204 – LC2D3J1_FC200788
    2016 Super – 8 150 X: LC2D3J1_GC200101 – LC2D3J1_GC200134
KYMCO advises that owners of affected models contact an authorized dealer for repair. The company also advises that all vehicles within the specified range be repaired “regardless of whether or not the existing hydraulic brake line exhibits the conditions noted in this recall.”

  2. Post on Sin City Here in Introduction

    By Ben Scott, posted
    Hello,
I'm Ben,  live in Vegas. I'm 40.  I've owned 3 scooters.  First was a 49cc Icebear (not the stretch), after losing her to the evils of men I got a TGB R50x (Named her Katy Perry,  she was sweet).  Well she met a 4 wheel beast and I introduced myself to the rear window of said beast.  Katy didn't make it.  Now I'm riding a (sorry, getting solid info on some scooters is like breaking crypto security.  Paperwork says it's a Titan Motors scooter.  (Doesn't say Titan anywhere on the scoot).  It does have velocity on the CVT cover.  And QMB132 on the fairings.  That still hasn't helped id it.  The most common way someone knows what I talk about it is.  The 50 CC velocity scooter with the rabbits decorating the exterior.  (Which I removed day 1).  NE ways, before scooters I didn't fix anything bigger than a computer.  But necessity and YouTube have helped me make strides.  I've gone and installed several air intakes, upgraded internals (CDI, Variator, Clutch, Carb etc).  I have a big bore kit in my bedroom, that I am figuring out installing, but projects are projects.  I use the scooter as a daily driver and have put about 5k miles on her in a little over 6 months.  Love It.

    So Hi , Ben here

  5. Ok, picked this up for $150 a couple weeks ago. Guy was selling it as he'd decided replacing was easier than repairing. Considering that he was a bit misleading about the work it needed until i got there, i might agree with him, ifn i weren't in the mood for a project.

From what i can tell, i'm going to need:
Throttle assembly (electric start doesn't work)
    kick starter
trunk lock (might just need adjustment)
seat lock (might just need adjustment)
    headlight
    ignition switch
    front fender
    leg shield (both parts)
    rocker panels
    master cylinder
Much of that i should be able to get from Scrappy Dog, though the body panels are vexing me, including possibly the body panels, other wise my best bet is prolly to turn to a BMS dealer, unless there's another brand importing these from ZNEN.
First problem is to sort out the kick starter, not only because its the only way to start the scooter currently, but also because i don't think i want to fire up the engine if its wedged into the engaged position. I figure that, the headlight, and the brake light switch connections are the minimum to get it running, but we'll want to do various maintenance and upgrades while we're at it (new belt, rollers, maybe clutch and spring, unifilter, re-jet) as well as fixing a few minor issues (disconnected PCV vent, two loose electrical connectors) while i'm in there.

  10. Can anybody recommend some good Cylinder honing tools for the GY6 motor? The Cylinder size range (at least that I am looking for) from 39mm to 67mm ( 1.53in x 2.67in ) , that means I am looking for one that is adjustable by 28mm  ( 1.14in )....
I've never honed a cylinder before and see there is a few different styles...  Should I get one with stones?
This one looks almost perfect except it's 2~3" instead of 1.5" to 3".... Plus, it's $140.00 and 25 shipping... I know these things can get pricey and I'm not looking for the best of the best... Just something that will let me hone a cylinder here and there when I need.
Anyhow, I sure would appreciate recommendations!

Now here's one that's only $25.00... But, it doesn't look like you can change the stones-grit, but it's exactly the price point I'm hoping for :)

Also, it should be noted, I am not looking for one that goes in any other kind of machine than a hand drill...
