The Race Thrash

Local boy needed some help so I dove in for the cause.

3pm call, motor is off he dyno with some very impressive numbers. (this is pro racing so for 1 I will not throw down a hp number unless I can back It up with a dyno chart, and 2nd its secret snit anyhow).

5.0Liter/302 ci. Coyote with a Wipple Blower on Gas

Grab the duelie and thrash to Atlanta for a sit down with the builder, go over dyne charts , load up and head back to NC, get in at 3am.

back at the shop at 8am, unload motor, put the race car on lift and drop the subframe out the bottom, and prepare to set the motor on top, dress motor and reinstall from the bottom. stick that puppy back in and finish dressing the motor.

Load Race car next day at 3pm and hit the road at 6pm for a all nighter drive to Detroit to a fabricator, arrive at 5:15am, sleep in truck for a hour or so, unload race car at just before 7am, meet with engineer and two fabricators on what needs done and how we are going to do it. A interceder tank needs to be fabricated along with the fitting of the electric water pump, fit throttle body, finish plumb the fuel rails and mod the hood for the blower duct work, typical the one day job is now almost two, car must be done by 4pm next day.

4:15pm next day load up car and pull another all nighter back to NC, arrive at 4:15am.

Bak at shop at 8am, unload car and back on the lift for final fluids etc.

Folks at the moment I'm not going to put out there the who or links.

This is juts one corner of the operation, Fabricators working in every stall.

Here is the fab shop in Detroit, none f the pictures do the lace justice and as much as i  wanted to go crazy with a cameras the place has a Strict No Camera's or Any Type of Pictures. there is a gallows of to the side for those who did not comply.

These ar file photo images I pulled off the net.

Very, very kool bud, I drive my wife nuts, every show with motorcycle or car fabrication I watch, some of the stuff these guys make ,to me is fantastic. The extra power they get out of some motors just by using a laptop amazes me.

So that Wipple is basically a super charger right ? Are they better set up than Rouch .

Yes the Wipple is a Supercharger,

The Roush blowers are from Wipple.

The Blower you see is front load wit the jack shaft as you have seen

Here is a picture here is a rear load for a 5.4 motor

There're theory on both but at the moment Wipple says use the front load.

Tis is your typical Four Link rear end using the Ford housing.

Was a cracked weld so we had to pull and strip it, had it welled last night and back in the car by 2pm today..

All light weight stuff so have to keep a eye on welds.

Oh ya all four of the Race cars in the shop are very high end chassis.. and we got two more cars in trailers..

This is one with the 5.4liter/331ci with that Whipple blower lets say and I can't say  a Bunch more than 1,000hp on Gas.

Her she is with the skinny 9.5 inch tires, stand her right up on end..the Goodyears hook!!

This is the match/Grudge race car. 5.4 liter/331ci wit the Whipple make more than 1,300hp.

And I found the video of the monster wheel stand of the match race car.

Mr Hill is a suspension guro, one of "the" that developed the Penske shocks.

Even taking some bite out of the car she will still stand right up on 9.5" tires.

Day Two

You can see he stabbed the throttle to pull it off the wall

The guy I use to love watching , think his name was Bob Gliden,  pro stock. We don't get any drag racing on TV up here, the guys do race at the airport on an old strip, some are pretty good.
